Dine in Style

On a beautiful Sunday morning at the end of March we teamed up with our friends at Dine & Style Fine Catering & Events at their beautiful space in Oshawa for a fun photoshoot. If you haven't heard of Sinead Skelly you're missing out. Seriously go check out her page because this lady is fiercely talented and you need to have her on speed dial for your next event. Whether its an intimate dinner party or a corporate function w/ 300 guests, she handles it all style and grace.

I don't know much about the food industry so at times like this, I turn to my trusted source for all things which is ... Google of course. After a brief search I stumbled across an interview with Andy Hayler, previously a guest critic on BBC's Master Chef, The Professionals. Andy states "there are four main criteria involved in creating outstanding food: quality ingredients, a high standard of technique, good presentation and dishes that simply make sense." This quote resonated with me because Sinead Skelly ticks all four of these boxes with every dish I've seen her create. If you're getting married, planning an event or looking for cooking inspiration, follow Sinead at @dineandstylecatering trust me you will be glad you did!

My task was to style a spring tablescape that would invite our guests to "Dine in Style". Sinead and I work so well together, each of us knows what the other one wants and we exceed each others expectations each time we collaborate or work on an event together. The first week of spring was my inspiration. I chose a soft colour palette including some of our favourite garden roses amongst the most beautiful parrot tulips to compliment a collection of our new rentals including our Rosalie lavender glassware, w/ our Honey Silks & Co. blush chiffon runner & our beautiful geode table numbers next to Gervais Rentals' gorgeous beaded chargers, dinnerware and flatware we created a table setting that would make even the toughest food critic swoon. Our friend Nicole from Crave Caters provided her famous handmade doughnuts and the lovely and talented Christina of Developed with Heart Photography captured it all for us so beautifully.
